LACQUER BODIES WITH WOODEN NECKS OR POLISHED CAST ALUMINUM NECKS ARE NOW AVAILABLE
Some customers know exactly what they want in a custom build, and they present us with colors, photos, or some type of visual reference that we can use to present a finalized design concept render. We are usually able to identify the color and source the inlay. When dealing with stains, colors, and wood grain patterns, some variation from the artwork can be expected as, color matching is an imperfect artform. We will do our best to deliver exactly what was designed and ordered.
We also offer predetermined designs with matching inlays to make the process simple and easy.
Flame maple and Birdseye maple are the grain choices at this time, and the color combinations shown could be for either grain. Simply specify what you prefer for your guitar. Note that other optional inlays can be used in lieu of the designs shown below.
Solid colors are also available upon request. Other than black or white, a color sample will need to be submitted for matching.

While there are countless inlay patterns available, here are 8 popular designs that work well on your custom pedal steel guitar.
We are not limited to these designs and are happy to provide alternative inlays upon request. If you have a source or have a photo of a particular pattern, send it to us for review.
Our design process includes conceptual renders so that you are confident that your colors, inlays and woodgrains look as you imagined them. Sometimes, simply choosing a color and an inlay choice is difficult to imagine, so we provide a visual aid using generated, photorealistic renders for your review and approval prior to purchase.
Again, when dealing with stains, colors, and wood grain patterns, some variation from the artwork may occur, as color matching is an imperfect artform.
HIGH GLOSS WOODEN NECK
POLISHED CAST ALUMINUM NECK
When it comes to neck choices, we offer our standard polished cast aluminum necks as well as wooden necks. The wooden necks are typically maple, and are colorized per the chosen design featuring a high gloss finish to match the rest of the body. Normally the neck will have matching inlays, but neck inlays are optional, especially when solid colors are used.
The tone of the ReSound'65 was tested and produced from the Emmons Original design. Cast aluminum is the material that we know produces consistent results as advertised. Wooden necks introduce some variation in grain pattern, density, and other organic factors that may alter tonal properties of your guitar.
Disclaimer: Often, warmer tones are produced with wooden necks, but the exact degree of tonal variations from cast aluminum necks cannot be consistently predicted.
